CLAAS Id76EAh / 76EAh (639) – SFA (A102): Open circuit, short-circuit to ground of the suspension’s position sensor or Open circuit, short-circuit to ground of the left-hand suspension position sensor.

The system detects a loss of signal or a grounded circuit from the front axle position sensor. As a safety and operational precaution, the front suspension becomes non-functional and is locked in its current position.

   Identify the front axle suspension position sensor (designated as B220 or B234-2).

   Inspect the wiring harness between the sensor and the SFA module for rubbed-through wires (short to ground) or broken wires (open circuit).

   Verify the sources of energy (fuses, supply voltage, and ground) at the sensor connector.

   Check the component's internal resistance to verify if the sensor itself has failed internally.

   Check the sensor linkage and mounting for mechanical seizing, damage, or disconnection.

   Preparation

   Ensure the tractor is safely supported and the front axle is relieved of pressure if required by the specific axle manual.

   Removal

   Unscrew the sensor cover attachment bolts, disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor, unscrew the sensor support screws, then remove the sensor assembly.

   Marking

   Mark the position of the ring holder bush to correctly position the rubber ring in its housing during reassembly.

   Installation

   Install the new sensor, referring to the marks previously made when installing the bush. Re-install the sensor support screws and cover bolts, then reconnect the harness.

   Calibration

   Use the CLAAS Diagnostic System (CDS) to calibrate the new suspension position sensor so the SFA module learns the correct upper and lower limits.
