CLAAS Id76FCh / 76FCh – BDG (A103): No message has been transmitted by the TR2 module for at least 5 seconds

Issue description

This is a CAN bus communication error indicating that the TR2 transmission module has stopped broadcasting data on the network. As a result, the TR2 transmission module and its associated functions may be lost, and the tractor may experience handling or shifting problems, or default to a degraded operating mode.

Applies to these machines

  • Axion 800 series
  • Axion 850-810
  • Arion 600 and 500 series
  • Arion 640-510
  • Arion 400 series
  • Arion 430-410
  • Axion 900 series
  • Axion 960

Check the cause

  1. Check the Powertrain CAN bus network for continuity, open circuits, or short circuits

  2. Check the TR2 module's operating conditions using the CLAAS Diagnostic System (CDS)

  3. Verify that the BDG CAN network communication module is functioning and properly relaying messages

  4. Check the connectors and continuity of the wiring harnesses linking the BDG and TR2 components

  5. Check the sources of energy to the TR2 module, including fuses, power supply relays, and ground connections

Repair steps

  1. Verify the Fault

Confirm the presence of code Id76FCh / 76FCh on the Cebis terminal or via the CLAAS Diagnostic System (CDS).

  2. Inspect Wiring

Physically inspect the Powertrain CAN bus wiring harness between the BDG (A103) module and the TR2 (A57-2) module. Look for chafed wires, corrosion in the connector pins, or loose connections.

  3. Test Power Supply

Use a multimeter to verify that the TR2 (A57-2) module is receiving proper 12V power and has a solid ground. A loss of power to the TR2 module will cause it to stop transmitting messages, triggering this exact code.

  4. Test CAN Resistance

With the battery disconnected, measure the resistance across the Powertrain CAN bus to ensure the terminating resistors are intact (typically 60 ohms).

  5. Component Replacement

If the wiring, power, and ground are all verified as good, the fault lies internally within either the TR2 (A57-2) transmission module or the BDG (A103) gateway module. Replace the faulty module and calibrate/program it using the CLAAS Diagnostic System.
