CLAAS Id7714h / 7714h (1568 02) – ENG (A15) Engine Module: Missing or erroneous torque curve selection information on Powertrain CAN bus

Issue description

The ENG (A15) engine module receives no information from torque curve selection on the Powertrain CAN bus or this information is in error on the Powertrain CAN bus. When this fault is logged, the CLAAS Sequence Management (CSM) becomes inactive and the system defaults to a degraded mode where the lowest power curve is selected automatically.

Check the cause

  1. Verify the physical integrity of the Powertrain CAN bus network

  2. Ensure the TR2 (A57-2) transmission module is communicating and powered

  3. Ensure the engine module ENG (A15) is properly receiving CAN signals

Repair steps

  1. Inspect Wiring and Connectors

Check the connectors and the continuity of the wiring harnesses linking the ENG (A15) module and the TR2 (A57-2) module along the Powertrain CAN bus.

  2. Test for Shorts/Opens

Use a multimeter to verify there are no short circuits to ground, short circuits to power, or open circuits on the CAN High and CAN Low lines.

  3. Check Power and Ground

Verify the energy sources for both the A15 and A57-2 modules. Check all relevant fuses, main power feeds, and ground connections.

  4. Module Diagnostics

If the wiring harness is intact, use the official diagnostic tool (e.g., tool n° 60 05 033 249 for the 'Auto 5' TR2 module) to test module responsiveness.

  5. Replace Faulty Module

If either the TR2 (A57-2) or ENG (A15) module fails to communicate during the diagnostic tool test, replace the faulty module and re-flash/calibrate it using CLAAS MetaDiag software.

Parts you might need

(3)
  • ENG (A15) Engine Module

Electronic engine control unit (e.g., HPCR 14 type for DPS engines)

  • TR2 (A57-2) Transmission Module

Often referred to as the 'Auto 5' generic electronic module

  • CAN Bus Terminating Resistors / Harness Connectors

If wiring damage is found during the continuity checks
