CLAAS Id772Ch / 772Ch (110 15) – ENG (A15): Temperature of the engine coolant slightly high
Issue description
Coolant temperature data is valid but is operating above the normal operating range at the least severe level. The engine will continue to run normally without derating.
Applies to these machines
3 machines- Axion 800 series
- Axion 850
- Jaguar
Check the cause
Check the engine cooling circuit.
Check the engine coolant temperature sensor (designated as component B45).
Check the engine module ENG (A15) and its connections.
Repair steps
Inspect the Cooling Circuit
Check the engine coolant reservoir to ensure the fluid is at the proper level. Inspect the radiator, hoses, and water pump for any visible leaks. Ensure the radiator fins are clear of dust, chaff, and agricultural debris that could restrict airflow and cause a slight temperature increase.
Inspect the Sensor Wiring
Locate the engine coolant temperature sensor (B45) on the engine block or thermostat housing. Inspect the wiring harness and the connector for corrosion, chafing, or loose pins that could cause erratic resistance readings to the ENG (A15) module.
Test the Sensor
Test the resistance of the coolant temperature sensor (B45) with a multimeter. If the sensor is reading out of specification for the current engine temperature, it is faulty.
Replace the Sensor
If the cooling system is mechanically sound and the wiring is intact, replace the faulty engine coolant temperature sensor.
Clear and Verify
Clear the fault code from the ENG (A15) module and run the machine under load to verify the coolant temperature remains within the normal operating range.
