CLAAS 7730h: Fuel Pressure Sensor Input Voltage Issue

Issue description

The ENG (A15) engine calculator detects an issue with the input voltage of the fuel pressure sensor in the common rail low. As a result, the engine power is reduced by 20% per minute until it reaches 50% of its nominal power. The engine calculator also manages the high pressure pump to maintain a 2 000 bar pressure in the common rail by opening the pressure restricter.

Check the cause

  1. The input voltage of the fuel pressure sensor in the common rail low

  2. The connection and wiring of the fuel pressure sensor

  3. The functionality of the ENG (A15) engine calculator

Repair steps

  1. Check the input voltage of the fuel pressure sensor in the common rail low

Use a multimeter to measure the voltage at the sensor's input. Compare the reading to the expected range specified in the service manual.

  2. Inspect the wiring and connections of the fuel pressure sensor

Look for any signs of damage, corrosion, or loose connections. Ensure all connections are secure and properly seated.

  3. Test the functionality of the ENG (A15) engine calculator

Follow the service manual procedures to test the engine calculator for proper operation. Consider replacing it if it is found to be faulty.
