CLAAS 773Ch – Claas Eng A15 Engine Module: High Average Temperature of Cooled Exhaust Gases
Issue description
The engine module detects that the average temperature of cooled exhaust gases is excessively high. As a result, the engine power is reduced by 20% per minute until it reaches 50% of its nominal power. Power is recovered at a rate of 20% per minute once the issue is resolved.
Check the cause
The cooled exhaust gas temperature sensor (B221)
The coolant level
The coolant thermostat
The exhaust gas recycling cooler
Repair steps
Inspect the cooled exhaust gas temperature sensor (B221)
Verify that the sensor is properly installed and functioning. Check for any signs of damage or contamination.
Check the coolant level
Ensure that the coolant level is within the recommended range. Top up if necessary.
Inspect the coolant thermostat
Verify that the thermostat is operating correctly and is not stuck in the closed position.
