CLAAS Id7745h / 7745h (636 10) – ENG (A15) - Engine Control Unit: Format of the position signal of the high pressure pump non valid.
Issue description
The engine control unit has detected that the input configuration or signal pattern from the high-pressure fuel pump position sensor is incorrect or invalid. Symptoms include extended engine starting time, shuddering or stalling when triggered, and the ECU defaulting to the crankshaft position sensor (B231).

Check the cause
Check the physical condition of the B232 position sensor on the high-pressure pump.
Inspect the wiring harness between the B232 sensor and the ENG (A15) module for dirty, worn, or badly positioned terminals.
Check for continuity between the sensor and the ECU.
Test for short-circuits to ground or open circuits.
Verify the sensor's power supply (voltage/ground) and measure the sensor's resistance and frequency output while cranking.
Verify the mechanical adjustment/timing of the sensor.
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Turn off the master switch and disconnect the battery before servicing engine sensors.
Repair Wiring
If the diagnostic checks reveal a wiring fault, repair the defective connection(s) or replace the damaged harness section.
Replace the Sensor
If the wiring is intact but the signal remains invalid, the B232 sensor itself is faulty and must be replaced.
Mechanical Timing
When installing the new sensor/pump holder, note the adjustment marking on the spur gear. This marking must line up precisely with the upper dead center (UDC) on cylinder 1.
Clear Codes
Reconnect the battery, turn on the ignition, and use the CLAAS Metadiag tool (or equivalent diagnostic scanner) to clear the active and memorized anomaly codes from the ENG (A15) module.
Test Run
Start the engine to verify that the extended cranking symptom is resolved and the code does not return.
