Issue description
When this fault is triggered, the engine calculator initiates a protective derate, reducing engine power by 20% per minute until it reaches 50% of its nominal power (power is also recovered at a rate of 20% per minute once the fault is resolved).

Check the cause
Identify the Sensor: The crankshaft position sensor is designated as component B231 in CLAAS wiring diagrams. It indicates the engine's rotation speed and the precise crankshaft position (Top Dead Center of cylinders 1 and 6).
Check Backup Signal: If the signal from B231 is absent or invalid, the engine management system will attempt to use the signal from sensor B232 (the high-pressure pump / timing position sensor) to manage engine speed. Verify if B232 is functioning correctly to keep the machine limping.
Inspect Wiring: Check the wiring harness leading to the B231 sensor for chafing, shorts, or loose connections.
Check the Module: Verify the connections at the ENG (A15) engine module.
