CLAAS Id7751h / 7751h (651 05) – Engine Control Module / ENG (A15): Open circuit on the electronic injector of cylinder n°1

Issue description

The engine control unit has detected that the electrical current to Injector #1 is less than expected, indicating a broken wire, disconnected plug, or an internal open circuit within the injector solenoid itself. The engine will run with difficulty, lack power, and misfire because the ignition/fuel delivery of the injector in cylinder n°1 is entirely inoperative.

Applies to these machines

  • Axion 800
  • Axion 810
  • Axion 820

Check the cause

  1. Verify the connections at the ENG (A15) module.

  2. Inspect the electronic injector for cylinder 1, designated in CLAAS schematics as component Y320-1.

  3. Check the wiring harness between ENG (A15) and Y320-1 for any open circuits, short-circuits, or chafing.

  4. Measure the internal resistance of the injector solenoid to confirm if the open circuit is internal to the injector.

  5. Check the sources of energy, including fuses, main supply voltage, and ground connections to the engine harness.

Repair steps

  1. Visual Inspection

Locate cylinder #1 and inspect the electrical connector at injector Y320-1. Look for loose pins, corrosion, or broken wires.

  2. Harness Testing

Disconnect the injector and use a multimeter to check for continuity between the injector plug and the corresponding pins on the ENG (A15) module.

  3. Component Testing

Measure the resistance across the pins of the injector itself. If the reading shows infinite resistance (OL), the injector solenoid has failed internally.

  4. Repair/Replace

If the wiring harness is damaged, repair the broken wire or replace the injector connector pigtail. If the injector fails the resistance test, depressurize the fuel system and replace the electronic injector.

  5. Reassembly & Clearing

Install new injector seals/O-rings during reassembly. Reconnect the harness, bleed the fuel system if necessary, clear the fault codes from the ENG (A15) module, and test run the machine to ensure the misfire is resolved.
