CLAAS 7759h – ECU: Invalid Calibration of Electronic Injector of Cylinder n°2

Issue description

The calibration data (IQA or IMA code) for the electronic fuel injector in cylinder n°2 is invalid, missing, corrupt, or incompatible within the engine control unit (ECU). Each electronic injector has a unique calibration code that accounts for slight manufacturing variations in fuel flow and timing. When the ECU detects that this data is missing or incorrect, it logs a fault, and the engine may experience difficulty running due to the invalid calibration.

Applies to these machines

  • Arion
  • Axion
  • Ares
  • Lexion
  • forage harvesters

Check the cause

  1. Use a CLAAS-compatible diagnostic tool to confirm fault code 7759h is active and check for any other related codes.

  2. Determine if the injector for cylinder #2 or the ECU has been recently replaced, which would require programming the new calibration code.

  3. Inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to the injector for cylinder #2 for any signs of damage, corrosion, or loose connections.

  4. Attempt to read the currently stored calibration codes in the ECU and compare them to the codes physically present on the injectors.

Repair steps

  1. Locate the Injector

Identify the electronic fuel injector for cylinder #2.

  2. Find the Calibration Code

Locate the QR code or alphanumeric ID code on the body of the injector. Be careful not to damage this tag.

  3. Connect Diagnostic Tool

Connect a CLAAS-compatible diagnostic system (such as CLAAS CDS) to the machine's diagnostic port.

  4. Navigate to Injector Calibration/Programming

Access the engine control module's functions and find the section for injector calibration or coding.

  5. Enter the Code

Carefully enter the alphanumeric code from the injector for cylinder #2 into the corresponding field in the diagnostic software.

  6. Save and Verify

Save the new calibration data to the ECU. After programming, clear all fault codes.

  7. Test Operation

Start the engine and let it run to ensure it is operating smoothly. Check for any returning fault codes. A test drive under load may be necessary to confirm the repair is successful.
