CLAAS Id7765h / 7765h (655 05) – ENG (A15) - Engine Control Module: Open circuit on the electronic injector of cylinder n°5
Issue description
The engine control module is detecting that the electrical current to the fuel injector on cylinder #5 is less than expected or completely interrupted. As a result, the engine will run with difficulty, idle roughly, and misfire because the injector in cylinder #5 is inoperative.
Applies to these machines
4 machines- Axion 850
- Axion 800
- Arion 640-510
- Arion 630-610 C
Check the cause
Verify that the Engine Module ENG (A15) is securely connected and that the pins on the ECU harness are not bent, corroded, or pushed out.
Inspect the electrical connector directly on the cylinder #5 fuel injector (Y320-5).
Use a multimeter to test the wiring harness between the ENG (A15) module and the cylinder #5 injector for an open circuit, chafing, or a broken wire.
Measure the internal resistance of the cylinder #5 injector coil to determine if the open circuit is internal to the injector itself.
Repair steps
Safety First
Turn off the engine, remove the key, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts while working on the engine harness.
Locate Cylinder #5
Identify the #5 cylinder on the engine block and locate its electronic fuel injector (Y320-5).
Inspect and Clean Connections
Disconnect the injector plug. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner. Reconnect and ensure it clicks into place. (If the issue was just a loose connector, this may resolve the fault).
Test the Circuit
If the connector is secure, test the harness continuity back to the Engine ECU. Repair any broken wires in the harness.
Replace the Injector
If the wiring harness tests good but the injector coil is internally open (infinite resistance), the injector must be replaced. Depressurize the fuel system, remove the high-pressure fuel lines to the injector, unbolt the injector hold-down clamp, and extract the injector.
Install New Parts
Install the new injector with new O-rings and seals. Reinstall the injector tube/fuel lines and torque to OEM specifications.
Clear Codes
Reconnect the battery, use a diagnostic tool to clear the Id7765h / 655 05 fault code, and prime the fuel system.
Test Run
Start the engine and verify that the misfire is gone and the code does not return.
