CLAAS Id776Dh / 776Dh (656 13) – ENG (A15): QR code non valid of the electronic injector of cylinder n°6.

Issue description

The engine control unit expects a specific calibration code (QR code/string) for the electronic fuel injector on cylinder #6 to ensure proper fuel delivery. This fault is logged when the QR code programmed into the ECU is missing, invalid, or does not match the expected format. As a result, the engine may run with difficulty, misfire, or experience a derate due to the invalid calibration of the injector.

Applies to these machines

  • Axion 810
  • Axion 820
  • Axion 830
  • Axion 840
  • Axion 850
  • Axion 960
  • Arion 640
  • Arion 510
  • Jaguar

Check the cause

  1. Check the Engine Module ENG (A15): Verify that the ECU has the latest software version and that there are no internal memory faults.

  2. Check the Electronic Injector (Component Y320-6): Inspect the physical injector on cylinder #6. Ensure the wiring harness and connectors are secure and not damaged, as communication issues can sometimes trigger calibration faults.

  3. Verify the QR Code: Read the alphanumeric calibration code physically printed on the top or side of the cylinder #6 injector.

Repair steps

  1. Connect Diagnostic Tool

Connect the CLAAS CDS (Computer Diagnostic System) or a compatible OEM-level diagnostic tool to the machine's diagnostic port.

  2. Access the Engine ECU

Navigate to the Engine Control Module (ENG A15) and select the injector programming/calibration menu.

  3. Read and Input the QR Code

Locate the QR code/calibration string printed on the electronic injector for cylinder #6 (Y320-6). Manually input this exact alphanumeric string into the diagnostic software.

  4. Save and Clear

Save the calibration data to the ECU. Clear the Id776Dh / 656 13 fault code.

  5. Test Run

Cycle the ignition and start the engine. Verify that the engine runs smoothly and the fault code does not return.

  6. Replace if Necessary

If the ECU refuses to accept the QR code, or if the injector is mechanically/electrically faulty, the injector (Y320-6) must be replaced. After installing the new injector, you must program its new QR code into the ECU following steps 1-4.
