The engine controller detects a problem in the circuit to the high-pressure fuel pump solenoid (Y344), indicating a short to battery voltage (shorted to power). This causes the engine to run abnormally.

   Check the connectors and the continuity of the wiring harnesses linking the Y344 solenoid valve to the ENG (A15) module, ensuring pins are seated correctly and not damaged.

   Measure the internal resistance of the high-pressure pump solenoid valve to ensure it is within spec.

   Clear and Verify

   Clear the error code using a diagnostic tool (like CLAAS Metadiag) and turn the starter switch to the 'ON' position. If the fault re-occurs immediately, it is an active electrical fault.

   If a short-circuit to battery voltage is found during the multimeter diagnostic checks, repair or replace the damaged section of the wiring harness.
