CLAAS 7779h: High Input Voltage of Fresh Air Intake Temperature Sensor

Issue description

The system has detected a high input voltage from the fresh air intake temperature sensor. The engine calculator uses a default intake fresh air temperature of 50°C. The engine protection function, which includes the fresh air maximum temperature EGR, is deactivated.

Check the cause

  1. The wiring and connections of the fresh air intake temperature sensor

  2. The voltage output of the fresh air intake temperature sensor

  3. The integrity of the engine calculator's input circuit for the fresh air intake temperature sensor

Repair steps

  1. Inspect the wiring and connections of the fresh air intake temperature sensor

Check for any damage, corrosion, or loose connections that could cause an incorrect voltage reading.

  2. Measure the voltage output of the fresh air intake temperature sensor

Use a multimeter to verify that the sensor is providing the correct voltage range as specified in the service manual.

  3. Check the engine calculator's input circuit for the fresh air intake temperature sensor

Ensure that the circuit is functioning properly and that there are no faults affecting the signal from the sensor.
