CLAAS Id77ABh / 77ABh (24) – HYD (A60): The valve 1 drawer has exceeded the instruction

Issue description

The internal spool/drawer of hydraulic valve 1 has traveled further than the commanded position, likely due to a calibration issue, mechanical seizing, or a sensor reading error. As a safety consequence, the system forces electrodistributor 1 to return to the neutral position.

Applies to these machines

  • Axion 800 series
  • Axion 810
  • Axion 850
  • Arion 400 series
  • Arion 600 series
  • Arion 410
  • Arion 430
  • Arion 640

Check the cause

  1. Check the connectors and the continuity of the wiring harnesses linking the HYD (A60) module to the electrodistributor module (A105-1)

  2. Check for any short-circuits or open circuits in the wiring

  3. Check the sources of energy, including fuses, power supply voltage, and ground connections to the valve

  4. Check the component's operating conditions for mechanical seizing of the valve drawer, extreme temperatures, or abnormal hydraulic pressure

  5. Check the compatibility of the program versions and verify if the valve requires re-calibration

Repair steps

  1. Note and Clear Codes

Note all present error codes to see if another code generated this one. Clear the error code from the CEBIS terminal/memory and operate the tractor's hydraulic valve 1 to see if the anomaly returns.

  2. Inspect Wiring

If the code returns, physically inspect the wiring harness leading to electrodistributor 1 (A105-1) for chafing, corrosion, or loose pins. Repair any damaged wiring.

  3. Test the Valve

Measure the resistance of the valve's solenoids and check the position sensor output to ensure it matches the specified values in the CLAAS test and measurement files.

  4. Check for Debris/Seizing

Remove the valve and inspect the spool (drawer) for scoring, metallic debris, or sticking. Clean the valve block if contamination is found.

  5. Replace Component

If the wiring is intact, the software is calibrated, and the valve spool is physically failing to match the commanded position (or the internal position sensor has failed), the electrodistributor valve must be replaced.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Electrodistributor Module (A105-1) / Hydraulic Spool Valve 1

When replacing the electrodistributor module, ensure that the new valve is properly calibrated to the HYD (A60) module using the CLAAS diagnostic tool, otherwise, position instruction errors will immediately return.
