Id77B4h / 77B4h (82)

CLAAS Id77B4h / 77B4h (82) – HYD (A60) - Hydraulic Control Module: The valve 1 drawer is not in neutral upon activation of the auxiliary hydraulic.

Issue description

The system locks out the function for safety, and Electrodistributor 1 remains in neutral. Essentially, the internal spool (drawer) of the first auxiliary hydraulic valve is failing to return to its neutral position when commanded, or the position sensor is reading it as out of neutral.

Applies to these machines

  • Axion 800 series
  • Axion 810
  • Axion 820
  • Axion 830
  • Axion 840
  • Axion 850
  • Axion 870

Check the cause

  1. Check the connectors and the continuity of the wiring harnesses linking the HYD (A60) module to the electrodistributor module (A105-1).

  2. Test the circuit for any short-circuits to power/ground or open circuits.

  3. Check the sources of energy, including fuses, power supply voltage, and ground connections to the valve.

  4. Measure the internal resistance of the electrodistributor's solenoid to ensure it is within spec.

  5. Check for mechanical seizing of the valve drawer. This can be caused by extreme temperatures, hydraulic pressure spikes, or oil contamination.

  6. Check the compatibility of the program versions and ensure the valve calibration settings in the CEBIS/CIS+ monitor are correct.

  7. Clear the error codes and operate the tractor's auxiliary hydraulics to see if the anomaly returns.

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, and relieve all hydraulic system pressure by moving the auxiliary hydraulic controls back and forth.

  2. Locate the Valve

Locate the auxiliary hydraulic valve stack at the rear of the tractor. Identify Valve 1 (electrodistributor module A105-1).

  3. Inspect Wiring

Disconnect the electrical plug at Valve 1. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner and inspect for pushed pins, moisture, or corrosion.

  4. Mechanical Check

If the electrical tests (continuity and resistance) pass, the valve spool (drawer) is likely mechanically seized or the internal position sensor has failed.

  5. Replacement

Unbolt the faulty electrodistributor module (A105-1) from the hydraulic valve block manifold. Be prepared to catch residual hydraulic fluid.

  6. Installation

Install the new electrodistributor slice, ensuring the O-rings are properly seated between the valve sections. Torque the tie-rod bolts to the manufacturer's specification.

  7. Reconnection

Reconnect the electrical harness to the new valve.

  8. Calibration

Turn on the tractor and use the CLAAS CEBIS/CIS+ terminal (or dealer diagnostic software) to calibrate the new hydraulic valve.

  9. Testing

Test the auxiliary hydraulic function to ensure the spool actuates and returns to neutral smoothly without throwing the Id77B4h code. Check for leaks at the valve block.
