CLAAS Id77C0h / 77C0h (24) – HYD (A60) - Hydraulic Control Module: The valve 2 drawer has exceeded the instruction.

Issue description

The physical drawer (spool) inside hydraulic valve 2 has traveled further than the position commanded by the control module. This typically indicates a mechanical sticking/seizing of the spool, a calibration loss, or a failure in the valve's internal position sensor/actuator. As a safety measure, the system forces electrodistributor 2 to return to the neutral position.

Applies to these machines

  • Axion 800 series
  • Axion 810
  • Axion 820
  • Axion 830
  • Axion 840
  • Axion 850
  • Arion 500 series
  • Arion 600 series

Check the cause

  1. Check the connectors and continuity of the wiring harnesses linking the electrodistributor module (A105-2) to the HYD (A60) module

  2. Test for any short-circuits or open circuits in the wiring

  3. Verify the sources of energy (fuses, power supply voltage, and ground connections) to the valve

  4. Check the component's operating conditions, specifically looking for mechanical seizing of the valve drawer, abnormal hydraulic pressure, or extreme temperatures

  5. Clear all error codes, then operate the tractor's hydraulic remote to see if the anomaly returns immediately (indicating a hard failure) or intermittently

Repair steps

  1. Isolate the Valve

Identify hydraulic valve 2 (electrodistributor A105-2) on the rear hydraulic stack.

  2. Inspect Wiring

Disconnect the electrical plug at the valve head. Inspect the pins for corrosion, pushed-back terminals, or moisture ingress. Clean and apply dielectric grease if necessary.

  3. Test Harness

Using a multimeter, verify continuity from the valve connector back to the HYD (A60) module pins. Repair any chafed or broken wires.

  4. Check for Mechanical Binding

If the electrical circuit is sound, the issue is likely inside the valve. Remove the electro-hydraulic actuator head from the valve body.

  5. Inspect the Spool

Check the valve drawer (spool) for mechanical binding, scoring, or contamination from hydraulic debris. If the spool is seized, the valve slice must be replaced.

  6. Replace Component

If the spool moves freely but the code persists, the electrodistributor actuator head (or the entire valve slice) has failed internally and must be replaced.

  7. Reassemble and Calibrate

Install the new electrodistributor module. Depending on the software version, you may need to perform a hydraulic valve calibration routine via the CEBIS or CIS terminal.

  8. Final Test

Clear the fault codes and actuate valve 2 under load to confirm the repair.
