CLAAS Id77D8h / 77D8h (31) – HYD (A60): Power supply voltage to hydraulic valve 3 is too low

Issue description

Fault code Id77D8h (Hex) / 77D8h (Decimal 31) indicates that the power supply voltage to hydraulic valve 3 is too low (specifically, measuring less than 8 Volts).

Applies to these machines

  • Axion 800 series
  • Axion 810
  • Axion 830
  • Axion 840
  • Axion 850

Check the cause

  1. Verify the sources of energy by checking the specific fuses, power supply lines, and ground connections feeding the A105-3 module. The voltage must be above 8V (nominally 12V).

  2. Check the connectors and the continuity of the wiring harnesses linking the HYD (A60) module to the valve 3 electrodistributor (A105-3).

  3. Test the circuit for any short-circuits to ground or open circuits that could be causing the voltage drop.

  4. Check the internal resistance of the electrodistributor module to ensure it is not internally shorted and pulling the reference voltage down.

  5. Ensure there is no mechanical seizing, extreme temperature, or pressure issue affecting the valve's operation.

Repair steps

  1. Read and Record

Note all error codes present on the tractor. Analyze if any other codes (like CAN bus errors or main system voltage codes) are generating this specific valve code.

  2. Locate the Component

Locate the hydraulic valve stack at the rear of the tractor and identify the electrodistributor module for Valve 3 (A105-3).

  3. Test Supply Voltage

Disconnect the electrical harness from Valve 3. Turn the ignition on and use a multimeter to measure the supply voltage at the harness connector.

  4. Repair Wiring

If the voltage at the connector is below 8 Volts, trace the wiring back to the HYD (A60) module and the fuse panel. Repair any corroded pins, chafed wires, or blown fuses causing the voltage drop.

  5. Replace the Valve Module

If the harness delivers the correct voltage but the code persists when plugged in, the electrodistributor module (A105-3) has an internal electrical fault and must be replaced.

  6. Calibrate and Clear

After repairing the wiring or replacing the valve, check if compatibility settings or calibrations are required via the diagnostic terminal. Clear all error codes and test the tractor's hydraulic functions to ensure the anomaly does not return.
