CLAAS Id77D9h / 77D9h (32) – HYD (A60): Power supply of hydraulic valve 3 is too high (> 36 V)

Issue description

The system detects an abnormally high voltage on the circuit for electrodistributor 3. As a safety measure, the system will typically force electrodistributor 3 to return to neutral and disable its function.

Applies to these machines

  • Axion 800 series
  • Axion 810
  • Axion 830
  • Axion 850
  • Axion 860
  • Arion 400
  • Arion 500
  • Arion 600
  • Xerion

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the physical condition of hydraulic valve 3 (electrodistributor module A105-3) on the rear hydraulic block.

  2. Check the connectors and continuity of the wiring harness linking the HYD (A60) module to the A105-3 valve.

  3. Test the wiring harness for a short-circuit to a higher voltage power source (fault indicates > 36V on a standard 12V nominal system).

  4. Check the sources of energy (fuses, supply voltage, and ground connections) at the valve connector.

Repair steps

  1. Safety Preparation

Park the tractor on a level surface, lower all hydraulic implements to the ground, turn off the engine, and relieve hydraulic pressure.

  2. Locate Valve 3

Identify the electrodistributor module (A105-3) on the rear hydraulic spool block.

  3. Test Supply Voltage

Disconnect the electrical harness from valve 3. Turn the tractor ignition ON (engine off). Use a multimeter to measure the voltage at the harness pins.

  4. Isolate the Fault

If the harness shows > 36V: The issue is in the wiring harness (a severe short to power) or a failure within the HYD (A60) module's power regulation. Trace the harness back to the HYD module and repair the shorted wires. If the harness shows normal operating voltage (approx. 12V): The internal sensor/circuit board inside the electrodistributor module (A105-3) has failed and is falsely reporting a high voltage. The valve module must be replaced.

  5. Replace the Valve (if necessary)

Unbolt the faulty electrodistributor slice from the hydraulic block. Install the new valve, ensuring all O-rings are properly seated and lubricated. Torque the tie-rod bolts to OEM specifications.

  6. Calibration

After replacing an electro-hydraulic valve, use the WLP/CIS dashboard panel or CLAAS WDI diagnostic software to clear the fault codes and calibrate the new valve's neutral/end positions.
