CLAAS Id77DEh / 77DEh (82) – HYD (A60): Valve 3 drawer is not in neutral upon activation of the auxiliary hydraulic system

Issue description

The valve 3 drawer is not in neutral upon activation of the auxiliary hydraulic system. The system forces a lockout where the electrodistributor remains at neutral to prevent unintended hydraulic actuation.

Applies to these machines

  • CLAAS Axion 800 Series (Axion 810, 820, 830, 840, 850)
  • CLAAS Arion 600 Series (Arion 510 through 640)
  • CLAAS Arion 400 Series (Arion 410, 430)

Check the cause

  1. Check the connectors and continuity of the wiring harnesses linking the A105-3 module to the HYD (A60) module.

  2. Test the circuit for any short-circuits to ground/power or open circuits.

  3. Verify the sources of energy (fuses, 12V supply voltage, and ground connections) to the electrodistributor.

  4. Check the component's physical operating conditions for mechanical seizing, debris in the hydraulic spool, or temperature/pressure anomalies preventing the valve from physically returning to its center position.

  5. Check the internal resistance of the valve solenoid and verify the compatibility of the software program versions, settings, and calibration.

Repair steps

  1. Document & Clear

Note all error codes present on the tractor (as CAN bus errors can cascade). Identify if this code is the root anomaly.

  2. Isolate the Valve

Locate the auxiliary hydraulic valve stack at the rear of the tractor and identify Valve 3 (Electrodistributor A105-3).

  3. Inspect the Spool/Drawer

Remove the actuator cap and inspect the valve drawer/spool. Clean out any hydraulic contamination or debris that may be causing mechanical binding.

  4. Test the Solenoids

Use a multimeter to check the resistance of the A105-3 solenoids against OEM spec.

  5. Check Wiring

Inspect the pigtail connector on Valve 3 for corrosion, bent pins, or wire chafing.

  6. Replace if Seized/Failed

If the valve drawer is permanently scored/seized, or if the electronic module fails the resistance/continuity test, replace the A105-3 electrodistributor module.

  7. Recalibrate

After replacing or freeing the valve, clear all error codes via the CEBIS terminal or diagnostic tool.

  8. Test

Run the tractor and activate the auxiliary hydraulics to ensure the valve returns to neutral and the code does not return.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Electrodistributor Module / Auxiliary Hydraulic Valve 3 (CCN: A105-3)

When replacing a single electrodistributor slice in the hydraulic stack, ensure you also replace the O-rings/seals between the valve slices to prevent internal pressure leaks.
