CLAAS Id77F1h / 77F1h (43) – HYD (A60): Internal position sensor of valve 4 is faulty

The internal position sensor of valve 4 is faulty (probable open circuit). As a safety measure, electrodistributor 4 automatically returns to the neutral position.

   Check the connectors and the continuity of the wiring harnesses linking the HYD module to valve 4

   Test the circuit for any short-circuits to ground/power or open circuits

   Verify the sources of energy to the valve, including fuses, 12V supply voltage, and ground connections

   Check the internal resistance of the valve's position sensor if specifications are available

   Inspect for mechanical seizing of the valve drawer, extreme temperatures, or abnormal hydraulic pressure

   Document & Analyze

   Note all error codes present on the tractor. Analyze if another code (like a CAN bus or voltage supply code) might be triggering this fault.

   Inspect Wiring

   Perform the visual and multimeter diagnostic checks on the wiring harness leading to valve 4. Repair any chafed wires or corroded pins.

   Clear & Retest

   Clear all error codes from the Cebis terminal/system. Operate the tractor and actuate valve 4 to see if the anomaly returns.

   Replace Component

   If the wiring, power, and ground are intact but the code immediately returns upon actuation, the internal position sensor has failed. Because the sensor is internal to the actuator head, you must replace the electro-hydraulic valve actuator (or the entire spool valve section depending on availability).

   Calibrate

   After replacement, check if the new component requires software calibration or adjustment via the CLAAS diagnostic tool.
