CLAAS Id77F5h / 77F5h (11) – HYD (A60): CAN communication error: Instruction message of valve 5 not received or improbable

Issue description

A CAN communication error where the 'Instruction' message of valve 5 is not received or is improbable. As a safety response to this condition, the system forces electrodistributor 5 to return to neutral, disabling its function.

Applies to these machines

  • Axion 800 series
  • Axion 810
  • Axion 820
  • Axion 830
  • Axion 840
  • Axion 850

Check the cause

  1. Check the Hydraulic CAN bus network: Ensure there are no communication breakdowns on the network.

  2. Check the hydraulic module HYD (A60): Verify the main module is functioning and outputting correctly.

  3. Check the electrodistributor module (A105-5): This is the specific valve module (Valve 5) throwing the error.

  4. Wiring and Harnesses: Check the connectors and continuity of the harnesses linking the HYD module and the A105-5 valve.

  5. Electrical Integrity: Check for any short-circuits or open circuits in the wiring.

  6. Power Sources: Check the sources of energy to the valve, including fuses, 12V power supply, and ground connections.

Repair steps

  1. Analyze Codes

Note all error codes present on the tractor. Analyze the interaction between them, as a primary CAN bus error can generate secondary codes.

  2. Inspect Connections

Disconnect the harness at electrodistributor 5 (A105-5) and the HYD (A60) module. Inspect the pins for corrosion, pushed-out terminals, or moisture.

  3. Test Wiring

Perform a continuity and resistance test on the CAN bus lines and power/ground wires between the valve and the hydraulic module.

  4. Repair/Replace

If a wiring fault is found (short/open circuit), repair the harness. If the wiring, power, and ground are all within specification, the electrodistributor module (A105-5) has failed internally and must be replaced.

  5. Clear and Retest

Clear all error codes from the HYD module. Operate the tractor and actuate valve 5 to ensure the electrodistributor no longer returns to neutral and the anomaly does not reappear.

Parts you might need
