CLAAS Id7804h / 7804h (41) – HYD (A60) - Hydraulic Module: Power supply of valve 5 is too high (> 42 V)

Issue description

The voltage exceeds the safe operating threshold, triggering a protective response that causes electrodistributor 5 to return to neutral.

Applies to these machines

  • CLAAS Axion 800 Series
  • CLAAS Axion 810
  • CLAAS Axion 850
  • CLAAS Arion Series
  • CLAAS Arion 410
  • CLAAS Arion 430
  • CLAAS Arion 640

Check the cause

  1. Measure the supply voltage at the A105-5 module to confirm if it is actually receiving over 42V, or if the module's internal sensor is failing.

  2. Check the connectors and the continuity of the wiring harnesses linking the HYD (A60) module to the A105-5 electrodistributor module.

  3. Look for any short-circuits to a higher voltage source or open circuits in the wiring.

  4. Check all sources of energy, including the specific 'Electrodistributor module power supply (VALVE)' fuse, general supply lines, and ground connections.

  5. Check the internal resistance of the A105-5 module if required by the test files.

Repair steps

  1. Read and Record

Note all error codes present on the tractor. Analyze interactions, as a main power surge or alternator overcharge could generate this code alongside others.

  2. Isolate the Circuit

    Disconnect the A105-5 electrodistributor module.

  3. Test the Supply

Turn the ignition on and test the supply pins on the harness side. If the voltage is normal (typically 12V system voltage), the fault is likely an internal short or failure within the A105-5 module itself. If the voltage is actually >42V, trace the wiring back to the HYD (A60) module and the battery/alternator to find the source of the overvoltage.

  4. Replace the Faulty Component

If the A105-5 module has an internal driver/sensor failure causing the high voltage reading, replace the electrodistributor module.

  5. Reassemble and Clear Codes

Reconnect the harnesses. Clear all error codes from the CEBIS/dashboard system.

  6. Test Operation

Operate the tractor and actuate hydraulic valve 5 to ensure the electrodistributor no longer defaults to neutral and the code does not return.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Electrodistributor Module (Valve 5) / Spool Valve Actuator

A specific 10-digit CLAAS OEM part number varies depending on the exact tractor model (Axion vs. Arion) and hydraulic block configuration (e.g., Bosch Rexroth or Danfoss valves). You will need to look up the specific electrodistributor slice for 'Valve 5' in the parts catalog using the tractor's VIN.
