CLAAS Id7807h / 7807h (81) – HYD (A60) – Hydraulic Control Module: The valve 5 drawer does not return to its neutral position

Issue description

Indicates a mechanical or electrical failure within the auxiliary hydraulic system where the valve 5 drawer does not return to its neutral position (whether by the force of the return spring or applying a current). As a fail-safe, the tractor's computer will force electrodistributor 5 to return to neutral and disable its normal operation.

Applies to these machines

  • Axion 800 series
  • Axion 810
  • Axion 820
  • Axion 830
  • Axion 840
  • Axion 850

Check the cause

  1. Check the connectors and the continuity of the wiring harnesses linking the HYD (A60) module to the A105-5 electrodistributor module

  2. Check the circuit for any short-circuits to ground/power or open circuits

  3. Check the sources of energy (fuses, power supply, and ground) to the valve

  4. Measure the internal resistance of the electrodistributor 5 solenoid to ensure it is within spec

  5. Check for mechanical seizing of the valve drawer, fluid pressure issues, or extreme temperature conditions that might prevent the internal return spring from pushing the valve back to neutral

Repair steps

  1. Clear and Verify

Note the error code, clear it from the CEBIS terminal, and operate the auxiliary hydraulics to see if the anomaly returns immediately.

  2. Inspect Wiring

Locate electrodistributor valve 5 (A105-5) on the rear hydraulic valve stack. Disconnect the electrical plug and inspect for corrosion, bent pins, or hydraulic fluid ingress.

  3. Test the Solenoid

Use a multimeter to test the wiring harness for proper voltage and ground. Test the solenoid's resistance. If the wiring is damaged, repair the harness.

  4. Check for Mechanical Binding

If the electrical circuit is sound, the issue is likely mechanical (the valve spool/drawer is physically stuck). Remove the solenoid actuator from the valve body and inspect the spool.

  5. Clean or Replace

If the spool is jammed due to debris or a broken return spring, the valve section will need to be removed, flushed, and rebuilt. If the internal bore is scored or the electrodistributor module has failed internally, replace the valve section entirely.

  6. Recalibrate

After replacing the valve, clear the fault codes and perform any necessary hydraulic valve calibrations via the diagnostic tool or CEBIS terminal to ensure the HYD module recognizes the new valve's neutral deadband.
