CLAAS Id7808h / 7808h (82) – HYD (A60): Valve 5 drawer is not in neutral upon activation of the auxiliary hydraulic
Issue description
The internal spool (drawer) of the #5 auxiliary hydraulic valve is failing to return to its centered, neutral position when commanded, or its position sensor is reading an off-center value. As a system protection response, the ECU forces Electrodistributor 5 to remain in neutral, disabling the valve.
Applies to these machines
6 machines- Axion 800 series
- Axion 810
- Axion 820
- Axion 830
- Axion 840
- Axion 850
Check the cause
Check the connectors and the continuity of the wiring harness linking the A105-5 electrodistributor to the HYD (A60) module
Check the wiring for any short-circuits to ground/power or open circuits
Verify the sources of energy at the valve head, including fuses, supply voltage, and ground
Check for mechanical seizing of the valve drawer (spool) caused by hydraulic contamination, pressure issues, or extreme temperatures
Repair steps
Verify the Symptom
Note the error code on the CEBIS terminal and confirm that auxiliary hydraulic valve #5 is locked out or unresponsive.
Inspect Wiring
Locate valve #5 on the rear hydraulic stack. Disconnect the plug to the electrodistributor head (A105-5) and inspect for bent pins, corrosion, or moisture.
Test Electrical Integrity
Using a multimeter, test the harness for continuity back to the HYD (A60) module. Ensure the valve is receiving proper operating voltage.
Check for Mechanical Binding
Remove the electrodistributor actuator head from the valve slice. Manually actuate the mechanical spool (drawer) to see if it moves freely. If it binds or sticks, the valve body must be removed, disassembled, and cleaned (or replaced if scored).
Replace the Actuator Head
If the spool moves freely and the wiring is intact, the internal position sensor or solenoids inside the electrodistributor head have failed. Replace the electrodistributor head (A105-5).
Clear and Test
Reassemble the valve stack. Clear all error codes from the system, start the tractor, and cycle the #5 auxiliary hydraulic circuit to ensure the anomaly does not reappear.
