CLAAS Id7811h / 7811h – HYD (A60): Short-circuit to ground of the front distributor external command
Issue description
The front distributor external commands become inactive. The tractor will return to normal operating mode automatically once the correct voltage is restored.
Applies to these machines
2 machines- CLAAS Axion 800 Series (Axion 810, 830, 840, 850)
- CLAAS Axion 900 Series (Axion 920, 950)
Check the cause
Verify the Code: Note all error codes present on the tractor (via the Cebis terminal) to see if another code is generating this anomaly.
Inspect the Contact: Directly check the front distributor external command contact (switch).
Wiring and Harness Check: Check the connectors and the continuity of the harnesses linking the front distributor external command to the HYD (A60) module. Test the circuit specifically for a short-circuit to ground or an open circuit.
Power and Ground: Check the sources of energy, including fuses, power supply, and ground connections.
Component Testing: Check the resistance of the external command contact/switch to verify if it has failed internally.
Repair steps
Isolate the Circuit
Disconnect the front distributor external command contact.
Test the Wiring
Using a multimeter, check the wiring harness between the switch and the HYD (A60) module for a short to ground.
Repair or Replace
If the wiring harness is chafed or shorted to the chassis, repair the damaged section of the wire. If the wiring tests good but the switch fails the resistance/continuity test, replace the front distributor external command contact.
Reassemble and Clear Codes
Reconnect the switch and harness. Clear all error codes from the system.
Test Operation
Operate the tractor and test the front distributor external commands to ensure the anomaly does not appear again.
Parts you might need
(2)Front Distributor External Command Contact / Switch
Ensure the replacement switch matches the specific Axion 800 or 900 series configuration (e.g., Hexashift or CMATIC).
