CLAAS Id7814h / 7814h – HYD (A60): Voltage of the signal of the rear left contact of the electrodistributor on high (in) (U56-1)

Issue description

High voltage condition on the signal circuit for the rear external hydraulic controls. The HYD module deactivates the rear external controls of the hydraulic distributor, rendering the external fender buttons for the rear left spool valve completely inactive.

Applies to these machines

  • Axion 810
  • Axion 830
  • Axion 850
  • Axion 920
  • Axion 940
  • Axion 950

Check the cause

  1. Locate the rear left contact switch for the electrodistributor (U56-1) on the rear left fender

  2. Inspect the connector at the U56-1 switch and the continuity of the wiring harness linking the switch to the HYD (A60) module

  3. Test the signal wire for a short-circuit to a 12V power source, an open circuit, or a broken ground connection at the switch

  4. Test the internal resistance of the fender switch to ensure it is not internally shorted

  5. Verify the connections at the HYD (A60) module itself

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes during testing.

  2. Access the Switch

Remove the inner fender panel or switch housing on the rear left fender to access the back of the external hydraulic control switch (U56-1).

  3. Inspect and Clean

Disconnect the switch. Inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture ingress (common on fender switches), or bent terminals. Clean with contact cleaner if necessary.

  4. Test the Wiring

Using a multimeter, check the signal wire from the switch connector back to the HYD (A60) module. If you find a short to 12V, locate the chafe mark in the harness and repair the wire.

  5. Replace the Switch

If the wiring harness tests good, the switch itself has likely failed internally, sending a constant high-voltage signal. Replace the U56-1 fender switch.

  6. Clear Codes

Reconnect the battery, turn on the ignition, and use the CEBIS terminal or a diagnostic tool to clear the error codes.

  7. Test Operation

Test the external hydraulic controls on the left fender to ensure the spool valve actuates properly and the code does not return.

Always verify the exact part number for the electrodistributor (spool valve) switch against your specific tractor's VIN/Serial Number through a CLAAS dealer parts catalog, as the lift switch and spool valve switch may have different pinouts.
