CLAAS Id7822h / 7822h – HYD (A60) - Hydraulic Module: Short-circuit to the ground on the CLAAS vehicle CAN bus

The communication network line (CAN bus) that the module uses to talk to the rest of the tractor has shorted out to a ground source, disrupting network messages.

   Check the CLAAS vehicle CAN bus network: Inspect the physical network lines for damage.

   Check the HYD (A60) module: Ensure the module itself is not internally shorted.

   Harness Continuity: Check the connectors and the continuity of the harnesses linking the HYD (A60) component to the CAN bus.

   Short-Circuit Testing: Specifically test the CAN lines for short-circuits to ground or open circuits using a multimeter.

   Power & Ground: Check the sources of energy to the module (fuses, power supply, and ground connections).

   Visual Inspection

   Locate the HYD (A60) hydraulic module and trace its wiring harness. Look for pinched wires, chafing against the tractor chassis, or moisture intrusion in the connectors that could cause a short to ground.

   Isolate the Short

   Disconnect the harness connector at the HYD (A60) module. Using a multimeter, measure the resistance between the CAN High / CAN Low pins on the harness side and a known good chassis ground.

   Harness Repair

   If continuity to ground is found on the CAN lines in the harness, trace the wiring loom to find the damaged section. Repair the broken wire or replace the affected wiring harness section.

   Module Testing

   If the wiring harness tests perfectly fine (no short to ground), the short may be internal to the HYD (A60) module. Check the module's pins for internal shorts.

   Component Replacement

   If the HYD (A60) module is internally shorted, replace the module.

   Calibration & Clearing

   After repairing the wiring or replacing the module, check if compatibility programming or calibration is required. Clear the fault codes and test the hydraulic functions to ensure the CAN bus is communicating properly.
