Id7826h / 7826h

CLAAS Id7826h / 7826h – HYD (A60) - Hydraulic Module: Short-circuit to the ground on the Hydraulic CAN bus

Issue description

The communication network responsible for transmitting data between the hydraulic control units has a wire that is improperly making contact with the machine's chassis ground, disrupting the CAN signal.

Applies to these machines

  • Axion 800
  • Axion 810
  • Axion 820
  • Axion 830
  • Axion 840
  • Axion 850
  • Axion 920

Check the cause

  1. Analyze all error codes present on the tractor to identify if Id7826h is the root anomaly, as one error code can generate another.

  2. Check the connectors and the continuity of the harnesses linking the HYD (A60) module to the Hydraulic CAN bus network.

  3. Use a multimeter to check for short-circuits to ground on the CAN High and CAN Low lines of the Hydraulic CAN bus.

  4. Check the sources of energy for the A60 module, including fuses, power supply, and ground connections.

  5. Check the compatibility of program versions, settings, and calibration if a module was recently replaced.

Repair steps

  1. Isolate the Circuit

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical damage.

  2. Access the HYD (A60) Module

Locate the A60 Hydraulic Module (refer to the specific model's component location guide).

  3. Inspect Wiring

Visually inspect the Hydraulic CAN bus wiring harness for signs of chafing, pinching, melting, or exposed copper touching the tractor frame.

  4. Test for the Short

Disconnect the CAN bus connector at the A60 module. Measure the resistance between the CAN pins and the chassis ground.

  5. Isolate Nodes

If a short to ground is present, disconnect other modules on the Hydraulic CAN bus one by one. If the short disappears when a specific module is unplugged, that module has an internal short. If the short remains with all modules unplugged, the wiring harness is at fault.

  6. Repair/Replace

Repair the damaged section of the wiring harness, or replace the internally shorted module (e.g., the A60 HYD module).

  7. Clear and Retest

Reconnect all components, restore battery power, clear all error codes using a diagnostic tool (like Jaltest or CLAAS CDS), and operate the tractor's hydraulic functions to ensure the anomaly does not reappear.

Parts you might need

(2)
  • HYD (A60) Hydraulic Module

OEM part numbers vary strictly by the specific tractor model, serial number break, and tier emissions level. Must be sourced via the CLAAS Parts Catalog using the machine's VIN/Serial.

  • Hydraulic CAN Bus Wiring Harness / Connectors

Generic CAN bus repair pigtails or model-specific harness sections if the wiring is damaged.
