CLAAS Id782Bh / 782Bh – HYD (A60) - Hydraulic Control Module: HYD module has not received information from the line 3 command of the multifunction armrest on the CLAAS vehicle CAN bus for more than 2.5 seconds

Issue description

As a safety precaution, Electrodistributor 3 is rendered inactive and returns to neutral. This indicates a communication breakdown between the HYD (A60) module and the MFA (A100) - Multifunction Armrest Module.

Applies to these machines

  • CLAAS Axion 800 Series (Axion 810, 850)
  • CLAAS Axion 900 Series (Axion 920, 950)
  • CLAAS Arion Series (Arion 500, 600 series)

Check the cause

  1. Check the CLAAS vehicle CAN bus network for communication integrity between the MFA (A100) and HYD (A60) modules.

  2. Check the connectors and continuity of the harnesses linking the MFA and HYD components.

  3. Check for any short-circuits (to 12V or ground) or open circuits on the CAN lines.

  4. Check the sources of energy (fuses, power supply, and ground) for both the A60 and A100 modules.

  5. Check the compatibility of the program versions, settings, and calibration between the modules using the CLAAS Diagnostic System (CDS).

Repair steps

  1. Read and Record

Note all error codes present on the tractor (e.g., via the CEBIS terminal or diagnostic tool). Analyze the interaction between codes, as a primary CAN bus failure might generate multiple secondary codes.

  2. Inspect Connectors

Disconnect the harnesses at the MFA (A100) armrest module and the HYD (A60) hydraulic module. Inspect for pushed-out pins, corrosion, or moisture.

  3. Test Wiring

Using a multimeter, perform a continuity test on the CAN High and CAN Low wires between the armrest and the hydraulic module. Test the resistance of the CAN bus (should typically read ~60 ohms with the battery disconnected).

  4. Verify Power

Turn the key ON and verify that both the MFA and HYD modules are receiving proper 12V supply and have clean grounds.

  5. Clear and Retest

If a wiring issue is found and repaired (e.g., repairing a rubbed wire or cleaning a connector), clear all error codes and operate the tractor's line 3 electrodistributor to verify the anomaly does not reappear.

  6. Module Replacement

If the wiring, power, and grounds are perfectly intact, the fault lies internally within either the MFA (A100) failing to broadcast the command, or the HYD (A60) failing to receive it. Replace the faulty module and flash/calibrate it using the CLAAS Diagnostic System.

Parts you might need

(3)
  • HYD (A60) Hydraulic Control Module

    0011431010 / 0021516070

Fitment varies heavily by specific Axion/Arion chassis number; verify with dealer.

  • MFA (A100) Multifunction Armrest Module (Armrest Control Unit / CEBIS MFA Module)

  • Electrodistributor 3 (Hydraulic Spool Valve / A105-3)

Only replace if the valve itself is proven to be shorted/faulty, though this code specifically points to a CAN communication timeout rather than a mechanical valve failure.
