CLAAS Id782Dh / 782Dh – HYD (A60) - Hydraulic Control Module: Communication timeout on the CAN bus network (HYD A60 missing F1/F2 button info)

Issue description

The HYD (A60) module has not received information from the F1 and F2 function buttons located on the multifunction armrest via the CLAAS vehicle CAN bus for more than 2.5 seconds, causing the buttons to become inactive.

Applies to these machines

  • Axion 810
  • Axion 820
  • Axion 830
  • Axion 840
  • Axion 850
  • Axion 920
  • Axion 930
  • Axion 940
  • Axion 950

Check the cause

  1. Check the CLAAS vehicle CAN bus network wiring harness linking the HYD (A60) module and the MFA (A100) armrest module

  2. Verify that the MFA (A100) armrest module is receiving proper power and ground, and that it is communicating on the network

Repair steps

  1. Verify the Fault

Confirm that the F1 and F2 function buttons on the multifunction armrest are inactive.

  2. Inspect Connectors

Disconnect the harness connectors at both the HYD (A60) module and the MFA (A100) multifunction armrest. Check for bent pins, corrosion, moisture, or loose terminals.

  3. Test Harness Continuity

Using a multimeter, check the continuity of the CAN bus wiring between the HYD (A60) and MFA (A100) modules. Check for any short-circuits to ground or open circuits.

  4. Check Power/Ground

Verify the sources of energy (fuses, supply voltage, and ground) to the MFA (A100) module.

  5. Component Replacement

If the wiring harness, power, and ground are all intact, the communication failure is likely internal to the MFA (A100) multifunction armrest module (or the F1/F2 button switches themselves), requiring replacement of the armrest module.

  6. Clear and Retest

Clear all error codes using the CLAAS Diagnostic System (CDS), then operate the tractor to ensure the F1/F2 buttons function correctly and the anomaly does not return.

Parts you might need

(2)
  • MFA (A100) Multifunction Armrest Module

Varies heavily depending on the specific tractor model, serial number, and trim level (e.g., CEBIS vs. CIS+ configurations). Consult the CLAAS parts catalog with the machine's specific VIN/Serial Number.

  • CAN Bus Wiring Harness / Connectors

Generic electrical repair components if a wiring fault is found.
