Id782Eh / 782Eh

CLAAS Id782Eh / 782Eh – HYD (A60) Hydraulic Module: CAN bus communication error: HYD (A60) Hydraulic Module has not received information from F3 and F4 function buttons

Issue description

Fault code Id782Eh indicates a CAN bus communication error. Specifically, the HYD (A60) Hydraulic Module has not received information from the F3 and F4 function buttons located on the multifunction armrest via the CLAAS vehicle CAN bus network. Symptom/Consequence: The F3 and F4 function buttons become completely inactive.

Applies to these machines

  • CLAAS Axion 800 Series (e.g., Axion 810, 850)
  • CLAAS Axion 900 Series (e.g., Axion 920, 950)
  • CLAAS Arion 400 Series (e.g., Arion 410, 430)

Check the cause

  1. Check the overall health of the CLAAS vehicle CAN bus network for frame errors or voltage drops

  2. Test the output voltage and resistance of the F3 (S230) and F4 (S231) function switches

  3. Check the connectors and continuity of the harnesses linking the MFA (A100) module, the HYD (A60) module, and the CAN bus

  4. Check for any short-circuits or open circuits in the armrest wiring

  5. Check the sources of energy (fuses, 12V supply, and ground) to both the MFA (A100) and HYD (A60) modules

Repair steps

  1. Analyze & Isolate

Note the error codes present. If other CAN bus or MFA codes (like Id76F8h - MFA module not transmitting) are present, address the broader CAN/power issue first.

  2. Inspect Wiring

Remove the armrest covers and visually inspect the wiring harness connecting the CMOTION lever/switches to the MFA (A100) board. Look for pinched wires or loose connector pins.

  3. Test Switches

Back-probe the S230 (F3) and S231 (F4) switches. Verify that the voltage changes state when the buttons are pressed.

  4. Repair/Replace

If the switches fail the continuity/voltage test, replace the switches or the joystick assembly. If the switches test good but the signal does not reach the CAN bus, the MFA (A100) module is likely faulty and requires replacement. If wiring is damaged, repair the open/short circuit.

  5. Clear & Retest

Clear all error codes using the CLAAS Diagnostic System (CDS), then operate the tractor and test the F3/F4 buttons to ensure the anomaly does not reappear.
