CLAAS Id782Fh / 782Fh – HYD (A60): CAN bus communication failure
Issue description
The hydraulic module has not received expected information from the CLAAS vehicle CAN bus network. Because the module is missing the necessary control data, the system enters a fail-safe degraded mode, resulting in Electrodistributors 4 and 5 becoming inactive.

Check the cause
Check for cascading codes (e.g., CAN bus short-circuit codes like Id7821h or Id7822h, or MFA armrest codes) to determine if another code is the root cause
Test the CLAAS vehicle CAN bus network for continuity, open circuits, or short-circuits to ground/12V
Verify that the Multifunction Armrest (MFA) is active, receiving power, and successfully communicating with the rest of the tractor
Inspect the connectors linking the HYD (A60) module and the CAN bus for moisture, corrosion, or backed-out pins
Check the energy sources (fuses, power supply, and ground straps) for the HYD (A60) module, as voltage instability frequently causes electronic control errors
Repair steps
Isolate the Network
Disconnect the battery. Using a multimeter, measure the resistance across the CAN High and CAN Low pins at the diagnostic port or HYD connector. A healthy CAN bus should read approximately 60 ohms. If it reads 120 ohms, a terminating resistor or wiring segment is broken.
Inspect the Harness
Physically trace the wiring harness from the HYD (A60) module to the main cab bulkhead and the MFA (A100) armrest. Repair any crushed wires or corroded connector pins.
Verify Module Power
Reconnect the battery and turn the key to the ON position. Verify that the HYD (A60) module is receiving steady 12V power and has a clean ground.
Test the MFA Armrest
If the wiring is intact, use a CLAAS Diagnostic System (CDS) to ping the MFA (A100) module. If the armrest is not broadcasting data, the armrest module itself may have failed.
Clear and Retest
Once the wiring is repaired or the faulty module is replaced, clear all error codes using the diagnostic tool. Test-operate the tractor's hydraulic remotes to ensure Electrodistributors 4 and 5 are active and the anomaly does not return.
