CLAAS Id783Bh / 783Bh – HYD (A60): Loss of Communication with Valve 2

The HYD (A60) module has detected a loss of communication (broken communication) with Valve 2. The system records the error in the EEPROM, immediately stops the active sequence (such as the Claas Sequence Management / CSM), and remains locked out of that function until communication is restored.

   Check the status of the Hydraulic module HYD (A60) and External function module EXT (A62) to ensure they are properly communicating on the CAN bus network.

   Inspect the connectors and continuity of the harnesses linking the HYD (A60) module, the EXT (A62) module, and Valve 2.

   Look for any short-circuits to ground, short-circuits to 12V, or open circuits in the wiring to Valve 2.

   Verify the sources of energy (fuses, supply voltage, and ground) for the hydraulic modules and the valve block.

   Measure the electrical resistance of Valve 2's solenoid to ensure it is within specification.

   Read and Document Codes

   Note all error codes present on the tractor. Analyze the interaction between them, as a CAN bus failure or an EXT (A62) module failure can generate this HYD (A60) code.

   Inspect the Harness

   Physically inspect the wiring harness running to the hydraulic valve block (specifically Valve 2). Clean the connectors with contact cleaner and check for pushed-out pins or moisture ingress.

   Test Valve 2

   If the wiring is intact, test the solenoid on Valve 2. If the solenoid is open-circuit or internally shorted, the valve or its solenoid coil must be replaced.

   Check Module Communication

   If the valve and wiring are functional, test the EXT (A62) and HYD (A60) modules. If either module fails to send or receive messages on the CAN bus, the faulty module must be replaced and reprogrammed.

   Clear and Retest

   Clear all error codes from the EEPROM. Relaunch the CSM (Claas Sequence Management) or hydraulic sequence and operate the tractor to ensure the anomaly does not reappear.
