CLAAS Id783Dh / 783Dh – HYD (A60): Loss of communication with Valve 3

The hydraulic control module has detected a loss of communication (or broken communication) with Valve 3 (Spool Valve 3). Any active CLAAS Sequence Management (CSM) sequence is stopped.

   Check the electrical wiring and connectors linking the HYD (A60) module to Valve 3 for open circuits, short-circuits, or damaged pins.

   Check the resistance and operating conditions of Valve 3.

   Check the external function module EXT (A62), as it interacts with the hydraulic sequences and CAN bus communication.

   Verify that the CLAAS vehicle CAN bus network is not experiencing high frame errors, which can cause localized communication drops.

   Check the sources of energy (fuses, supply voltage, and ground) to the HYD module and the valve.

   Document and Analyze

   Note all error codes present on the tractor. Analyze if another CAN bus or EXT (A62) error code is generating this anomaly.

   Inspect Physical Connections

   Disconnect the harness at Valve 3 and the HYD (A60) module. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner and inspect for pushed-out pins or corrosion.

   Test the Harness

   Use a multimeter to perform a continuity test on the wires running between Valve 3 and the A60 module. Repair or replace the wiring harness if a break or short to ground is found.

   Test/Replace the Valve

   If the wiring is intact, the communication failure is likely due to a failed solenoid/electronic actuator on Valve 3. Replace Valve 3.

   Clear Codes and Relaunch

   After repairs are made, clear all error codes from the system. Test the tractor's hydraulics and relaunch the CSM sequence to verify the anomaly does not reappear.
