CLAAS Id783Eh / 783Eh – HYD (A60): Valve 4 is disconnected from the CSM (CLAAS Sequence Management) as it is locked

Issue description

The system detects that Valve 4 is unavailable. The system will attempt to launch the CSM sequence again after 20 seconds. If nothing happens, the CSM must be reset.

Applies to these machines

  • Axion 810
  • Axion 820
  • Axion 830
  • Axion 840
  • Axion 850
  • Axion 920
  • Axion 930
  • Axion 940
  • Axion 950

Check the cause

  1. Attempt to reset the CLAAS Sequence Management (CSM) switch (S177) and see if the sequence can be successfully relaunched

  2. Check the connectors and continuity of the wiring harnesses linking the HYD (A60) module and the Valve 4 Electrodistributor (A105-4)

  3. Check for any short-circuits to 12V, short-circuits to ground, or open circuits on the Hydraulic CAN bus network

  4. Check the sources of energy (fuses, power supply, and ground) to the valve

  5. Check the component's operating conditions (e.g., hydraulic pressure, temperature, and mechanical seizing of the spool valve)

  6. Check the component's resistance and adjustment values against the test and measurement files

Repair steps

  1. Document Codes

Note all error codes present on the tractor (such as related codes Id783Fh or Id77E1h) to identify if a broader Hydraulic CAN bus failure is the root cause.

  2. Inspect Valve 4

Locate Valve 4 (Electrodistributor A105-4) on the rear hydraulic valve stack. Inspect the electrical connector for dirt, moisture, or pushed-out pins.

  3. Test Wiring

Using a multimeter, verify continuity between the Valve 4 connector and the HYD (A60) module. Repair any damaged wiring.

  4. Mechanical Check

Ensure the valve is not mechanically locked or seized due to contamination in the hydraulic fluid.

  5. Replace Component

If the wiring is intact, power/ground is present, and the valve remains locked and unresponsive to CSM commands, replace the Electrodistributor Valve 4.

  6. Clear & Retest

Clear all error codes from the Cebis terminal/system. Test the tractor's hydraulic functions and run a CSM sequence to ensure the anomaly does not reappear.

Parts you might need

(2)
  • Electrodistributor Module / Hydraulic Spool Valve (Valve 4)

Specific part numbers vary heavily by exact Axion chassis serial number and valve stack configuration. Ensure the replacement valve matches the specific pin configuration (e.g., 4-pin electric spool valve) of the existing hydraulic block.

  • HYD (A60) Hydraulic Control Module

Only replace if the module itself is proven to have an internal fault preventing communication on the Hydraulic CAN bus. Requires dealer programming/calibration upon installation.
