CLAAS Id7840h / 7840h – HYD (A60) - Hydraulic Module: Valve 5 disconnected from the CSM as it is locked / Valve 5 unavailable
Issue description
The CSM (CLAAS Sequence Management) system has lost communication with or locked out hydraulic Valve 5. When this fault is triggered, the system response is to wait 20 seconds and attempt to launch the CSM sequence again.
Applies to these machines
10 machines- Axion 800 Series
- Axion 810
- Axion 830
- Axion 840
- Axion 850
- Axion 900 Series
- Axion 920
- Axion 950
- Axion 960
- Arion Series
Check the cause
Check the connectors and continuity of the wiring harnesses linking the HYD (A60) module, the EXT (A62) module, and the Valve 5 electrodistributor (A105-5)
Check for any short-circuits to ground, short-circuits to 12V, or open circuits on the Hydraulic CAN bus network
Check the sources of energy (fuses, supply, and ground) to Valve 5 to ensure power supply is between 8V and 36V
Check the resistance of the valve's solenoid and verify its mechanical adjustment
Check for mechanical seizing of the valve spool, operating pressure, and temperature
Check the compatibility of program versions, settings, and calibration using the METADIAG or CLAAS Diagnostic System
Repair steps
Note and Analyze
Note all error codes present on the tractor's CEBIS display. Analyze the interaction between them, as a CAN bus communication error might be the root cause.
Reset the CSM
Wait 20 seconds for the CSM sequence to relaunch. If nothing happens, manually reset the CSM (CLAAS Sequence Management).
Clear the Error
Use the diagnostic tool to clear the error parameters from the HYD (A60) module's memory.
Physical Inspection
If the error returns, physically inspect the Valve 5 electrodistributor (A105-5) for mechanical binding (spool behavior error) or wiring damage.
Test the Tractor
Try operating the tractor and launching a sequence again until the anomaly reappears.
Replace the Valve
If the CSM reset fails, the wiring is intact, and the error immediately appears again after clearing, replace the Valve 5 electrodistributor.
Parts you might need
(1)Electrodistributor Module (A105-5) / Auxiliary Hydraulic Valve 5
Exact part numbers vary heavily by the specific tractor chassis and hydraulic configuration. When installing a new valve, the RAM memory and EEPROM of the valve are write/read tested upon initial commissioning. Ensure the system is calibrated after installation so the HYD (A60) module recognizes the new spool position parameters.
