CLAAS Id7887h / 7887h – EXT (A62): The ISO CAN bus component of the EXT module is faulty.

The internal circuitry or transceiver within the EXT module responsible for communicating on the ISO CAN bus network has failed or is experiencing a critical error.

   Inspect the wiring harness for the ISO CAN bus. Look for open circuits, short-circuits to ground, or short-circuits to 12V.

   Verify the connectors and the continuity of the harnesses linking the EXT (A62) module to the rest of the CAN network. Ensure there are no pushed, corroded, or loose pins.

   Verify the sources of energy to the EXT module, including all relevant fuses, main power supply lines, and ground connections.

   Verify if the module is communicating on the standard CLAAS vehicle CAN bus (if it is completely dead, the issue might be power-related rather than just the ISO CAN component).

   Isolate the Circuit

   Disconnect the battery or turn off the master switch before unplugging modules.

   Inspect Wiring

   Locate the EXT (A62) module and disconnect its harness. Use a multimeter to test the ISO CAN High and CAN Low lines for proper resistance (typically 60 ohms across the network if both terminating resistors are intact) and ensure neither line is shorted to ground or power.

   Restore Connections

   If wiring damage is found, repair the harness, clear the codes, and retest.

   Replace the Module

   If the wiring, power, and grounds all test perfectly, the internal ISO CAN bus component of the EXT module has failed. You must replace the EXT (A62) module.

   Calibrate/Program

   After replacing the EXT module, check the compatibility of the program versions and settings. The new module may require flashing/calibration via the CLAAS Diagnostic System (CDS) to communicate properly with the tractor's configuration.
