CLAAS Id7893h / 7893h – EXT (A62) - External Function Module: Right Stop Light Invalid Signal / Communication Failure
Issue description
The external function module has received no information from the stop lights, or it has received an invalid signal from the right stop light for more than 5 seconds over the CAN bus. The system flags that the right stop light information is not available on the rear 7-pin ISO connector.
Applies to these machines
9 machines- Axion 800
- Axion 810
- Axion 850
- Axion 920
- Axion 950
- Arion 510
- Arion 610
- Arion 630
- Arion 640
Check the cause
Check the CLAAS vehicle CAN bus network to ensure it is communicating properly without excessive frame errors
Check the CAN bus network communication module BDG (A103) to verify that this module is transmitting messages correctly
Check the 7-pin ISO connector by inspecting the physical connector at the rear of the tractor
Check the connectors and continuity of the harnesses linking the EXT (A62) module, the BDG (A103) module, the 7-pin ISO connector, and the right stop light
Check for any short-circuits or open circuits in the lighting and CAN bus wiring
Check the sources of energy, including fuses, power supply, and ground connections for the lighting circuit and the EXT module
Repair steps
Visual Inspection of the ISO Connector
Inspect the 7-pin ISO connector at the rear of the tractor. Look for dirt, heavy corrosion, or pushed-out pins (specifically the pin assigned to the right stop light). Clean or replace the socket if damaged.
Inspect the Right Stop Light
Check the right tail light assembly on the tractor. Verify that the stop light bulb or LED is functioning. Replace the bulb if it is blown.
Check Fuses and Relays
Locate the fuse box and test the fuses responsible for the external lighting, the EXT (A62) module, and the BDG (A103) module.
Wiring Continuity Test
Using a multimeter, test the wiring harness from the right stop light and the 7-pin ISO connector back to the EXT (A62) module. Repair any broken wires or chafed insulation causing an open or short circuit.
CAN Bus Testing
If the physical wiring to the lights is intact, test the CAN bus lines between the EXT (A62) and BDG (A103) modules for proper voltage and termination resistance.
Module Replacement/Calibration
If all wiring, fuses, and bulbs are in working order, the fault lies within the logic boards. Check the compatibility of the program versions and settings. If necessary, replace the EXT (A62) or BDG (A103) module.
