CLAAS Id78A2h / 78A2h – EXT (A62): The CSM sequence cannot be started

The CSM sequence does not start as speed is not high enough. Speed must exceed 1,5 km/h. This is often an operational error rather than a mechanical failure, occurring when the operator attempts to initiate a recorded sequence while the tractor is stationary or moving too slowly.

   Verify operator procedure: Ensure the operator is not pressing the CSM sequence activation button while the tractor is traveling at less than 1.5 km/h

   Use the CLAAS Diagnostic System (CDS) to monitor live ground speed data from the theoretical ground speed sensor (B227) or gearbox rotation speed/ground speed sensors (B016 / B330) to see if they drop out or read 0 km/h while moving

   Check the Powertrain CAN bus and the CLAAS vehicle CAN bus network for proper resistance, voltage, and continuity

   Inspect the wiring harnesses and connectors for the speed sensors and the EXT (A62) module for corrosion, damage, or open circuits

   Operator Instruction

   Instruct the operator that the tractor speed must exceed 1.5 km/h before initiating the CSM sequence. If this resolves the issue, no physical repair is necessary.

   Harness Repair

   If diagnostic checks reveal a communication loss between the speed sensors and the control modules (A056/A057/A62), repair or replace the damaged wiring harness or connector pins.

   Sensor Replacement

   If a speed sensor is found to be faulty and is failing to report the correct ground speed to the CAN bus, remove the defective sensor from the transmission/gearbox housing and install a new OEM speed sensor.

   System Reset

   Clear the fault codes using the CLAAS Diagnostic System (CDS).

   Test Drive

   Restart the tractor and carry out a test drive. Accelerate past 1.5 km/h and activate the CSM sequence to confirm the repair.
