CLAAS Id78A8h / 78A8h – EXT (A62): CSM sequence interrupted - speed not high enough
Issue description
The CSM (CLAAS Sequence Management) sequence is interrupted. The CSM sequence does not start as speed is not high enough (must exceed 1.5 km/h).

- Axion 900 Series (920, 940, 950, 960)
Check the cause
Confirm with the operator if they are attempting to trigger a CSM sequence while the tractor is stationary or moving slower than 1.5 km/h (normal system behavior).
Check the ground speed readout on the dashboard (CIS/CEBIS display) while the tractor is moving faster than 1.5 km/h.
If the speed readout is 0 km/h or erratic while moving, diagnose the ground speed/gearbox rotation speed sensor (e.g., sensor B016, B227, or B330 depending on transmission).
Verify the integrity of the CLAAS vehicle CAN bus network and communication module, as communication loss can prevent the EXT module from reading speed.
Repair steps
Correct Operation
Instruct the operator to ensure the tractor is traveling above 1.5 km/h before pressing the CSM sequence playback button.
Inspect Speed Sensor
If a speed sensor fault is confirmed via the diagnostic checks, locate the ground speed sensor on the transmission housing.
Check Harness
Inspect the sensor's wiring harness and connector for physical damage, corrosion, or pushed-out pins. Repair the wiring or replace the connector pigtail if necessary.
Replace Sensor
If the wiring is intact but the sensor fails resistance/voltage tests (or is physically damaged), replace the ground speed sensor.
Clear Codes & Test
Clear the error codes using the CLAAS Diagnostic System (CDS) or by cycling the ignition. Perform a test drive at a speed greater than 1.5 km/h and trigger the CSM sequence to verify the repair.
