CLAAS Id78AAh / 78AAh – EXT (A62): CSM Function Beyond Control
Issue description
One of the functions attempting to be controlled by the CSM (Claas Sequence Management) system is beyond its control, and this occurred without prior information being sent to the external function module. The system rejects the entry/command ('Entry rejected').
Applies to these machines
3 machines- CLAAS Axion 800 Series (e.g., Axion 810, 850)
- CLAAS Axion 900 Series (e.g., Axion 920, 950)
- CLAAS Arion 500/600 Series (e.g., Arion 510-640)
Check the cause
Verify that the HYD (A60) hydraulic module is communicating properly on the CAN bus network.
Inspect the electrical wiring harnesses connecting the EXT (A62) module, the HYD (A60) module, and the hydraulic valves for continuity, shorts, or corrosion.
Check the specific hydraulic valves that the CSM is attempting to actuate to ensure they are not mechanically stuck or suffering from solenoid failure.
Verify the EXT (A62) external function module itself is functioning and communicating correctly.
Repair steps
Clear and Re-test
Clear the fault code and attempt to run the CSM sequence again to see if the 'Entry rejected' error returns.
Inspect wiring
Trace the electrical wiring between the EXT (A62) module, the HYD (A60) module, and the implement/hydraulic valves. Repair any broken wires or clean corroded connector pins.
Test hydraulic valves
Test the hydraulic valve solenoids for proper resistance and ensure they actuate when 12V is applied. Replace any failed valves.
Verify module communication
If the wiring and valves are in good condition, use a diagnostic tool to check the CAN bus communication between the HYD (A60) and EXT (A62) modules. If either module fails to send/receive messages or process inputs, it must be replaced and reprogrammed.
