CLAAS Id78ACh / 78ACh – EXT (A62): CSM Communication Failure / No Input Message Received

Communication problem involving the Claas Sequence Management (CSM) system. A communication failure occurred between one of the functions controlled by the CSM and the external function module because no input message was received from the expected component.

   Verify the status and CAN bus communication of the hydraulic module (HYD A60)

   Inspect the wiring harness connecting the HYD (A60) module, the CSM valves, and the EXT (A62) module

   Inspect the specific hydraulic valve controlled by the CSM for electrical or mechanical faults

   Verify the external function module (EXT A62) itself is online and communicating on the CLAAS vehicle CAN bus

   Visual & Harness Inspection

   Inspect the wiring harness between the EXT (A62) module, the HYD (A60) module, and the CSM hydraulic valves. Look for chafed wires, pinched cables, or loose connector pins.

   Electrical Testing

   Use a multimeter to check for short-circuits (to 12V or to ground) or open circuits on the CAN bus lines and the valve control circuits.

   Power & Ground Verification

   Check the sources of energy for both the EXT (A62) and HYD (A60) modules. Verify that all related fuses are intact and that the modules have a solid ground connection.

   Component Resistance & Mechanical Check

   Test the resistance of the CSM valve solenoid. Check the valve's operating conditions to ensure the spool is not mechanically seized.

   Software & Calibration

   Check the compatibility of the program versions between the EXT and HYD modules. Recalibrate the CSM system if a software glitch is suspected.

   Component Replacement

   If the wiring, power, and grounds are perfectly intact but the communication failure persists, replace the faulty component (the CSM valve, the HYD A60 module, or the EXT A62 module).
