CLAAS Id78C5h / 78C5h (861) – SFA (A102) - Front suspended axle module: Communication loss with the external function module EXT (A62) during a CSM sequence

The front suspended axle module SFA (A102) has detected a communication loss with the external function module EXT (A62) during a CLAAS Sequence Management (CSM) sequence. As a safety and operational precaution, the front suspended axle is disconnected when this communication loss occurs.

   Check the SFA (A102) suspended axle module

   Check the external function module EXT (A62)

   Check the CLAAS vehicle CAN bus network for communication integrity

   Check the connectors and the continuity of the harnesses linking the SFA and EXT components

   Check for any short-circuits or open circuits in the wiring

   Check the sources of energy for both modules (fuses, power supply, and ground)

   Check the compatibility of program versions, settings, and calibration between the modules

   Document

   Note all error codes currently present on the tractor.

   Analyze

   Identify the nature of each error code and analyze the interaction between them, as a CAN bus error or power failure can generate multiple cascading codes. Identify if the communication loss is the root anomaly.

   Inspect Wiring

   Perform tests and measurements on the CAN bus network, specifically checking the harness continuity, power (12V), and ground connections to both the A102 (SFA) and A62 (EXT) modules.

   Replace Component

   If the wiring, fuses, and power supplies are intact and functioning correctly, replace the faulty component (either the SFA or EXT module) causing the communication drop.

   Clear and Retest

   Clear all error codes from the system. Test the tractor by relaunching a CSM sequence to ensure the anomaly does not appear again and that the front suspended axle remains active.
