CLAAS Id78DCh / 78DCh – EXT (A62): The CSM (CLAAS Sequence Management) sequence cannot be started

Type of machine incorrect. The EXT (A62) module detects a mismatch or corruption in its configuration data regarding the specific tractor model, locking out the CSM automated sequences as a safety precaution.

   Check the CLAAS vehicle CAN bus network for voltage irregularities or communication drops between the EXT (A62) module and the BDG (A103) module.

   Connect the CLAAS Diagnostic System (CDS) and verify the machine configuration profile loaded into the EXT (A62) module.

   Check if the software versions of the EXT module and the tractor's main controllers are compatible, especially if a module was recently updated or replaced.

   Verify the power supply and ground connections to the EXT (A62) module, as voltage drops can cause memory/configuration corruption.

   Connect Diagnostic Tool

   Hook up the CLAAS Diagnostic System (CDS) to the tractor's diagnostic port.

   Reconfigure the Module

   Navigate to the EXT (A62) module settings. Attempt to re-flash or re-enter the correct machine type/profile for your specific tractor model.

   Clear and Retest

   Clear the Id78DCh fault code. Cycle the ignition and attempt to activate a CSM sequence.

   Module Replacement (If Necessary)

   If the EXT module refuses to accept the configuration, repeatedly loses its memory, or has suffered an internal hardware failure, it must be replaced.

   Program New Module

   Install the new EXT module and use the CDS to program the correct machine type and calibrate the CSM functions.
