CLAAS 7F07h – DBD: WLP to DBD Communication Error

The Dashboard Control Unit (DBD/A101) has not received a CAN bus message from the Working Light Processor (WLP/A104) module for more than five seconds. This communication breakdown causes functions associated with the WLP module, such as the working lights, to become inactive or operate unpredictably.

   Record and analyze all active and stored fault codes to identify if multiple communication faults exist.

   Visually inspect the CAN bus wiring harnesses and connectors associated with the DBD (A101) and WLP (A104) modules for damage, corrosion, or loose connections.

   Perform a CAN bus resistance check with vehicle power completely off (measure between CAN High and CAN Low; expect approximately 60 Ohms).

   Perform a CAN bus voltage check with ignition on and engine off (CAN High should be 2.5-3.0V; CAN Low should be 2.0-2.5V).

   Verify that both the DBD and WLP modules are receiving correct voltage and have solid ground connections.

   Disconnect modules one by one (if the network architecture allows) to see if communication is restored.

   Use the CLAAS Diagnostic System (CDS) to attempt direct communication with the WLP module to isolate the fault.

   Repair wiring and connectors

   Repair or replace any damaged wires, corroded pins, or loose connectors found during the visual inspection. Ensure all connections are clean and secure.

   Address CAN bus faults

   If CAN bus resistance or voltage readings are incorrect, trace the wiring to locate and repair the short circuit, open circuit, or faulty terminating resistor.

   Replace faulty module

   If wiring, power, and ground are confirmed good, replace the WLP (A104) module. If the DBD (A101) module fails to communicate with any other modules, replace it instead. Note: Module replacement may require programming with the CLAAS Diagnostic System (CDS).
