CLAAS A039h – HYD: Spool Position Supervision Error

The actual physical position of the second electro-hydraulic spool valve (Valve 2) does not match the position commanded by the tractor's control program. The system detects this deviation as a supervision error. As a safety measure, the control module automatically commands Valve 2 to return to its neutral position, disabling its function.

   Attempt to clear the error code through the tractor's control panel and operate the machine to see if the error reappears, which may indicate an intermittent issue

   Thoroughly inspect the 'Valve 2' (A59-2) electro-hydraulic valve assembly for any visible damage, hydraulic leaks, or loose parts

   Carefully inspect the electrical connector and wiring harness associated with the A59-2 module for signs of corrosion, damage, or loose connections. Disconnect, inspect the pins for integrity, and reconnect the harness

   Verify the condition of fuses associated with the hydraulic control system and ensure the tractor's electrical supply and ground connections are stable and clean

   Prepare machine for service

   Ensure the tractor is on level ground, the engine is off, and the parking brake is engaged. Relieve any stored pressure in the hydraulic system according to the manufacturer's guidelines.

   Locate Valve 2

   Identify the correct electro-hydraulic valve block (A59-2). The valves are typically arranged in a stack, and 'Valve 2' will be the second in the series.

   Disconnect electrical harness

   Disconnect the electrical harness from the A59-2 module.

   Disconnect hydraulic lines

   Mark and carefully disconnect the hydraulic lines attached to the valve section. Be prepared to capture any residual hydraulic fluid.

   Remove valve section

   Unbolt and remove the 'Valve 2' electrodistributor module from the hydraulic valve stack.

   Install new valve

   Install the new valve module, ensuring all seals and O-rings are correctly seated.

   Reconnect lines and harness

   Re-torque the valve section bolts to the manufacturer's specification. Reconnect the hydraulic lines to their correct ports and reconnect the electrical harness.

   Test system

   Top off the hydraulic fluid level. Start the tractor and allow it to warm up. Check for any leaks around the new valve.

   Clear codes and calibrate

   Clear the A039h fault code from the control module. If required by the specific machine configuration, calibrate the new valve using the CLAAS Diagnostic System (CDS).
