CLAAS A148h – HYD (A60): 8th Valve Neutral Timeout

The system logs this fault when the 8th electro-hydraulic remote valve has not received a command for a specified period, causing it to automatically return to the neutral position as a safety measure.

   Use the CEBIS display to check the status of the hydraulic valves. Verify if the 8th valve is detected and responds to commands.

   Inspect the electrical connectors for the 8th hydraulic spool valve and the HYD (A60) control module for corrosion, moisture ingress, or loose/damaged pins.

   Examine the wiring harness between the control module and the 8th valve for chafing, breaks, or short circuits to the frame.

   Check fuses and power supply to ensure the hydraulic control module and valve are receiving correct voltage (between 8 V and 36 V) and have a solid ground connection.

   Clear the fault code using the CEBIS terminal and operate the machine to see if the fault reappears.

   De-energize and depressurize system

   Turn off the tractor and ensure the hydraulic system is safely depressurized before working on any hydraulic components.

   Locate the 8th hydraulic valve

   Identify the specific valve assembly corresponding to the 8th remote function in the rear remote valve block.

   Remove and inspect the valve

   Disconnect the electrical connector from the solenoid. Unbolt and remove the valve assembly. Inspect the valve spool for scoring, sticking, or contamination, and check O-rings and seals for damage.

   Replace the valve

   If the valve has an internal electrical failure or a mechanically stuck spool, replace it. Install the new valve assembly with new O-rings and seals, torque mounting bolts to manufacturer specifications, and reconnect the electrical connector.

   Perform final system checks

   Start the tractor and check for hydraulic fluid leaks. Use the CEBIS display to verify the new valve is recognized and test the 8th hydraulic remote function to confirm the repair.
