Deutz-Fahr B30C15 – Exhaust Gas Aftertreatment Control Module (ACM / ACM 2.1): Exhaust Pressure Sensors Signal Implausible
Issue description
The signal between the exhaust pressure sensors is implausible. Specifically, the differential pressure reading between the sensor upstream of the Diesel Oxidation Catalyst/Diesel Particulate Filter and the sensor downstream of the DPF does not match expected operating parameters, which disrupts the DPF regeneration process.
Applies to these machines
3 machines- Deutz-Fahr Agrotron Series
- Deutz-Fahr Serie 6 (6120, 6155, 6160, 6180, 6210 TTV)
- Deutz-Fahr Serie 9 (9340 TTV)
Check the cause
Inspect Pressure Lines: Check the physical hoses/pipes connecting the exhaust pipe to the differential pressure sensors (B37 and B38) for soot blockages, melting, cracks, or loose connections.
Electrical Testing: Inspect the wiring harness and connectors for the sensors. Check for loose contacts, corrosion, or shorts to ground/battery.
DPF Soot Load Check: Use a diagnostic tool to check the DPF soot accumulation levels. An overloaded DPF can cause erratic pressure readings.
Module Power Supply: Verify the power supply to the ACM. Voltage drops or interruptions can cause the module to misinterpret sensor data.
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Disconnect the machine's battery before servicing the exhaust aftertreatment system.
Clear Pressure Lines
Remove the pressure lines connecting the exhaust to the sensors. Blow them out with compressed air to ensure they are completely free of soot or condensation. If the lines are brittle or cracked, replace them.
Replace Sensors
If the lines and wiring are intact, the differential pressure sensor(s) are likely faulty and should be replaced.
ACM Module Repair/Replacement
If the sensors, lines, and wiring harness are fully functional but the B30C15 code persists, the ACM 2.1 control module has likely suffered an internal hardware failure. The module must be removed and sent to a specialized commercial vehicle electronics repair service or replaced with a new unit.
Reassembly and Regeneration
Reconnect the battery, clear the fault codes using a diagnostic scanner, and perform a manual/forced DPF regeneration to normalize the system pressures. Test drive the tractor under load to verify the repair.
