Deutz-Fahr I23 – Instrument Panel (Dashboard): Power output 0 not connected

Indicates an open circuit or disconnection in the preheating system. Specifically, the system detects that the preheating control relay (glow plug or grid heater relay) is disconnected or the circuit has failed open.

   Verify the dashboard power configuration is correct for your specific engine model

   Check the contacts on connector '5K' at the instrument panel for oxidized (corroded) pins or loose connections

   Check the contacts on connector 'RL42' at the preheating control relay to ensure they are not oxidized and are firmly secured

   Verify that the preheating control relay is functioning correctly mechanically and electrically

   Turn off tractor

   Turn the tractor's starter key to the "O" (OFF) position.

   Disconnect connector 5K

   Access the rear of the instrument panel and disconnect connector "5K".

   Inspect and clean connector 5K

   Inspect the wiring harness and clean any oxidation from the contacts on connector "5K". Ensure the pins are straight and the connector seats tightly.

   Locate relay

   Locate the preheating control relay (designated as RL42 in the wiring schematic).

   Inspect and clean relay connector

   Disconnect the relay and inspect the wiring harness connector for damage, broken wires, or corrosion. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner.

   Bench-test relay

   Bench-test the relay for continuity and proper switching operation.

   Replace relay if necessary

   If the relay fails the bench test or has internal open-circuit damage, replace it with a new unit.

   Reconnect and verify

   Reconnect all components firmly, turn the key to the ON position, and verify that the I23 fault code has cleared from the instrument panel display.
